What changed

A Golden Tenna Statue now appears in Chapter 5’s Castle Town if it was obtained from the Chapter 3 Ball Machine. Players who lose to the Chapter Boss after disabling Voice Clips also gain a way to re-enable those clips permanently.

The patch corrects Chapter 4 Titan Spawn violence being counted as “Lost,” which could also prevent Jackenstein from appearing in the Chapter 5 town. Susie receives the intended additional magic points when the Chapter 4 Shadow Crystal boss was defeated.

Interface and control fixes cover inaccurate TP numbers, ZL or L2 acting as a one-frame confirm press on gamepads, and blank item slots carried from older Chapter 4 save files. ACT-menu timing can no longer clip the player through the floor or leave menus and movement active in unintended states. A crash caused by hitting an enemy and Mysterious Statue simultaneously is fixed, along with walking during combat through Final Starwalker timing, missing TP from grazing some bullet patterns, and Kris remaining sideways in the final cutscene.

Key changes

Carryover and progression

  • Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 outcomes now produce the intended Chapter 5 statue, town resident, and magic state.
  • Voice Clips can be permanently re-enabled through the added path.

Controls and combat

  • Gamepad confirm behavior, TP display and grazing, ACT menus, movement, and cutscene orientation are repaired.

Saves and stability

  • Old blank item slots are corrected.
  • A documented simultaneous-hit crash and several state exploits are removed.

What this means for players

The patch primarily protects continuity across chapters and closes unusual timing paths that could corrupt moment-to-moment behavior. Players can verify the installed chapter version at the bottom-right of the file-select screen.

Who is affected

PC, Mac, and PlayStation players are included. The save carryover fixes are especially relevant to players bringing Chapter 3 or 4 outcomes into Chapter 5.

Rollout and known limitations

The developer says the next patch will add an option to reduce the Shadow Crystal boss’s bomb difficulty after a loss and fix older-chapter bugs. Those future changes are not included in 0.0.250.

Editorial context

Steam Update Radar assessment: the article emphasizes cross-chapter state because several apparently small fixes determine which Chapter 5 rewards or residents appear.
