At a glance

  • Adds voice-chat region controls, automatic regional selection, and connection indicators.
  • Repairs shelter, weather protection, shared-item, body pickup, interaction, and lobby crash paths.
  • Adds push-to-talk, color-vision filters, automatic and manual unstuck tools, and private whiteboards in 0.35.4.
  • Keeps several AMD GPU, connection, consumable, performance, and clipping issues on the official known list.

Player impact

Multiplayer groups gain clearer regional voice routing and fewer item, interaction, and lobby failures, while players receive accessibility and recovery tools from the preceding patch. Several documented hardware and networking issues remain unresolved.

What changed

Version 0.35.15 makes voice region selection automatic by default while allowing hosts to choose a region in the Create Session dialog. The lobby and Crew Assembly screens show the active voice region, and the voice activity indicator displays a red X when the connection fails. Push-to-talk visibility and availability while stunned are also repaired.

Tornado and shelter behavior receives several fixes. The park gazebo is recognized as shelter, infinite rain or lightning protection from moving between zones is removed, and weather audio and lingering spectator effects are corrected. Furniture behind doors is moved across house models to reduce entrapment.

The release also repairs simultaneous item pickup, shared dead-body grabs, minigame interactions after a player disconnects, shader compilation when accepting an invite from a closed client, and a crash during level loading or lobby entry. Exclusive Fullscreen is temporarily removed while the developer studies GPU problems.

Radar presentation is revised at the same time. Dead characters use a distinct red X, player markers gain more contrast, and the special inventory slots for radio equipment are made visually smaller than ordinary item slots. A Lost Signal effect is adjusted to reduce streaming bitrate problems, while weather and tornado audio popping is fixed.

The preceding 0.35.4 patch adds push-to-talk, color-vision filters, mouse smoothing, mouse-button rebinding, automatic and manual unstuck tools, private whiteboards, and a shared whiteboard stroke cap. Earlier 0.34.23 and 0.34.28 releases rebalance acid rain, expand lobby search, and remove several tornado, item, van-seat, and voice-start crash paths.

Version 0.35.4 also lets players use walkie-talkie and CB radio microphones while a menu is open, adds achievement tracking icons, changes controller navigation defaults, and improves tutorial state between sessions. Its weather balance lowers acid-rain probability and starting-rain frequency on Normal, increases the gap between storms, and permits ordinary rain on Hard.

Key changes

Multiplayer and voice

  • Voice chat defaults to a nearby region and can be manually assigned.
  • Connection state is visible in the lobby and voice indicator.
  • Shared pickup, body, interaction, invite, and lobby failures are fixed.

Accessibility and recovery

  • Color-vision filters, mouse smoothing, rebinding, and unstuck controls carry forward from 0.35.4.
  • Whiteboards receive private mode and shared-cap behavior.

Weather and stability

  • Shelter, protection-zone, tornado, and weather feedback are more reliable.
  • Several crash paths are fixed, but AMD GPU crashes remain on the official known list.
  • The gazebo becomes valid shelter, false indoor wet states are fixed, and infinite protection between zones is removed.

What this means for players

Groups should have more control over voice latency and clearer feedback when voice service fails. Players caught in geometry or affected by shared-object races receive direct recovery or prevention paths, while the weather fixes reduce false protection and unsafe interior states.

The automatic region is still only the default: hosts can select another voice region for their party and can confirm the active choice before play. That distinction matters for groups whose closest automatic region is not the best shared route.

Who is affected

Multiplayer hosts, voice-chat users, push-to-talk users, players with color-vision deficiencies, and people affected by tornado or geometry issues are explicitly covered.

Rollout and known limitations

Known issues include certain AMD GPU crashes, server or invite failures, inaccessible consumables, menu and Alt-Tab performance, invisible purchased items or skins, tornado clipping, and fences blocking tornado pull. Exclusive Fullscreen is temporarily unavailable.

Editorial context

Steam Update Radar assessment: the combined sequence captures both the major 0.35.4 feature additions and the later 0.35.15 network and stability state without presenting earlier known issues as fixed.
