Player impact

PvP players can immediately test complete loadouts on two new maps without an equipment unlock grind. PvE and Siege players gain a new enemy, weapon buffs, reward changes, and a large set of reliability fixes.

What makes Patch 14 bigger than a normal balance pass

The official notes call 14.0 the Confrontation update, and the scope supports that name. Sanctum is a medium-sized arena built around open combat areas, rapid access to engagement zones, and a central hotspot. Facility goes in the other direction: it is one of the game’s most compact PvP maps and is designed to reward flanking, rotations, and fast pressure.

That map pair arrives with a structural PvP change. All weapons and equipment are now available from level one. The update therefore changes more than the current meta; it changes who can participate in it without first completing an unlock path.

An experimental team-reshuffle system may also reassign players after a match based on results. Saber says this can be switched on and off from the backend, so players should treat it as a live test rather than a permanent rule.

New enemy, weapons, and reward loops

The Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer joins the Thousand Sons as a Terminus enemy. It can attack at close and long range and create illusions. The live patch also adjusts the enemy after PTS testing: its beam deals less damage, several attack cooldowns are longer, illusions have less health, and some follow-up patterns should be easier to avoid.

Four new Trials of Resolve Ordeals target experienced players. PvP participation now awards weekly Accolades, which connect to six Heroic weapons and new armour pieces. The weapon list covers the Thunder Hammer, Power Fist, Bolt Carbine, Melta Rifle, Power Sword, and Stalker Bolt Rifle.

Several of those Heroic weapons received live-release buffs in response to PTS feedback. The Combi-Flamer Bolt Carbine gains bolter damage and faster burn buildup, the Salamanders Melta Rifle gains damage and falloff range, and the Deathwatch Power Fist receives stronger and more responsive melta-blast behavior.

Class and Siege changes to watch

Assault’s Ground Pound radii and ability cooldown are reduced in effectiveness, although some outer-radius reductions were partially rolled back from the PTS values. Vanguard receives a much shorter ability cooldown, higher ability damage, and three charges. Bulwark can be knocked out of shield stance after a lower damage threshold.

In Siege, wave-completion and side-objective resource rewards increase by 20 percent. High-wave enemies can reach higher damage-resistance caps, the new sorcerer appears as a miniboss, and Accolade rewards are based on reaching wave 15 rather than surviving 15 waves. The Tech Priest’s income contribution is also reduced and scales down as waves progress.

Customization and the next update

Wargear 2.01 adds a third slot to selected classes so some capes and tabards can be equipped together. Robes arrive for Assault and Tactical, with Assault tabards tied to the new Ordeals. The official note says a broader Wargear update is planned for Patch 15, including additional class options, but those future items are not part of 14.0.

What players should do first

New or lapsed Eternal War players can test complete loadouts immediately, making the two new maps the fastest way to understand the patch. Established players should recheck Assault, Vanguard, and Bulwark assumptions before carrying old builds forward. Siege groups should revisit reward routing and high-wave plans because both the economy and enemy resistance curve changed.
