What changed
Hotfix 1.0.25917 repairs an Arcade state where a player hit by a vehicle at the start of a dance could remain dancing forever. It also prevents objects from being placed at train-station entrances, blocks terraforming below the station tunnel, stops players from hitting vehicle passengers, and handles a local co-op player leaving after viewing Town Rankings.
Worker and town simulation changes prevent workers from dropping items instead of loading makers for backfill production. Tourists no longer drop held items merely because they see garbage, the missing sandbox townie is restored, and imported vehicles now have a four-purchase cap before restocking. The patch also adds safety checks for rare GPU crashes.
The earlier 1.0.25886 hotfix restored the first tutorial train, including a forced spawn for already stuck players. It fixes a recipe-change blocker at the first shop, infinite dialogue loops, player-specific fishing loot, a rare exit-to-title crash, Intel integrated-graphics lighting, cumulative render-target behavior on some hardware, and incorrect treasure lists for network clients.
Key changes
Progression and simulation
- First-train, opening-shop, dialogue, and Arcade blockers are fixed.
- Workers place backfill items correctly and tourist behavior is adjusted.
- Train-station placement and terrain boundaries are protected.
Multiplayer and stability
- Local co-op exit and network treasure-display issues are repaired.
- Vehicle-passenger damage is blocked.
- Rare GPU and exit-to-title crash paths receive fixes.
Balance and interface
- Garbird frequency and maximum counts were reduced in 1.0.25886.
- Import quantities and later vehicle purchase limits are adjusted.
What this means for players
The two hotfixes concentrate on situations that could stop the opening tutorial, trap a character, or leave town systems in an invalid state. Existing towns also benefit from more predictable workers, tourists, imports, and co-op behavior.
Who is affected
New players in the introduction, local and network co-op users, Intel integrated-graphics users, and towns using workers, tourists, fishing, or imports are explicitly represented in the notes.
Rollout and known limitations
The official posts do not describe save migration, rollback, or retroactive repair for already corrupted states. Generic GPU safety checks are not expanded into unlisted hardware coverage.
Editorial context
Steam Update Radar assessment: combining 1.0.25886 and 1.0.25917 records the latest state while preserving the important first-train recovery that the later note does not repeat.
