What changed

The Slasher’s Jump Scare anti-camp penalty no longer crosses floors. Cross-Examination now leaves Killer Light Marks for 10 seconds, with Elusive lasting three, four, or five seconds by perk tier. Six Slasher add-ons are adjusted: Sauna Rock exhaustion falls from 13 to three seconds, Two Nails aura time falls from six to five, Mirror Shards Broken duration rises from 30 to 40, two proximity ranges increase from eight to ten meters, and Party Noisemaker’s distance threshold falls from 32 to 28 meters.

Summer Screams runs July 28 through August 18 at 11:00 EDT, rotating Chaos Shuffle, Lights Out, and 2v8 for one week each. Lights Out now shows nearby pallet, vault, and breakable-wall auras to Lantern holders, keeps gate interactions lit after objectives, restores Deep Wound and anti-camp bars, supports Fog Vials, and fixes Xbox Series X lighting. Chaos Shuffle can assign all perks and add-ons.

The bug list spans 2v8 zombie, chest, cage, trap, item, and achievement behavior; voice lines and audio; several Killer powers; Nurse and trap geometry; Hex, Visionary, Plot Twist, Deathbound, Deerstalker, and Shadowborn; loadouts, prompts, skills, queues, and Bloodweb behavior.

In 2v8, Nemesis zombies should no longer become stuck on Sanctum of Wrath, Killer chests regain the correct aura behavior for the Nemesis and Mastermind pairing, and several Bear Trap, Cage of Corruption, Spray, Antidote, and achievement states are corrected. Character fixes stop Dark Lord’s wolf form from attacking just before Pounce cooldown and prevent downed Survivors from continuing Generator repair after Mastermind’s vault attack.

Map repairs address trap placement or attack collision in Eyrie of Crows, Torment Creek, Treatment Theater, Toba Landing, and Dead Dawg Saloon. Perk fixes restore Hex status visibility after Undying, Visionary generator auras after locker cooldown, Plot Twist reuse rules, No One Escapes Death aura display, Deathbound scream behavior, Deerstalker extension with Eyes of Belmont, and Shadowborn activation with Rampage tokens.

Interface and miscellaneous fixes cover saved loadouts after switching from Chaos Shuffle, Oni Blood Fury prompts, Survivor Skill lock state, wiggle input during skill checks, illegal Entity purchases in the Bloodweb, and Killer priority when leaving a Play While You Wait Survivor queue.

Key changes

Killer, perks, and add-ons

  • The Slasher’s anti-camp behavior is floor-aware.
  • Cross-Examination and six Slasher add-ons receive numeric adjustments.

Events and modes

  • Summer Screams rotates three modes over three weeks.
  • Lights Out gains stronger navigation information and UI restoration.
  • Chaos Shuffle expands its random assignment pool.

Fixes

  • 2v8, characters, maps, audio, perks, interface, queues, and achievements receive extensive repairs.
  • Walking Dead interaction lines, collection music, locker screams, healing lines, hook timing, and language-dependent voices are corrected.

What this means for players

Slasher loadouts and Cross-Examination values change immediately, while the event modes have clearer rules and visibility. The broad fix set reduces several cases where powers, traps, loadouts, or queues behaved inconsistently.

For Summer Screams participants, the rotating schedule matters because the changes are not active as one permanent combined mode. Chaos Shuffle runs July 28-August 4, Lights Out August 4-11, and 2v8 August 11-18, each changing the available rules and quests for that week.

Who is affected

The Slasher, multiple Survivor perk users, Summer Screams participants, 2v8 players, and Xbox Series X Lights Out players are explicitly named.

Rollout and known limitations

Stake Out tokens can still be consumed by Snap Out of It skill checks against The Doctor; the developer says a future release will fix it. A Skull Merchant fix was reverted, so the associated drone disappearance issue returns and remains under investigation.

Editorial context

Steam Update Radar assessment: 10.0.3 is both a balance patch and event-preparation release. The known regressions are retained because presenting only the fixed list would hide material current limitations.
