At a glance
- Preserves created tables when retrying or switching cases loaded after 1.05.
- Adds travel between unlocked cases in version 1.02.
- Improves hints, table saving, syntax highlighting, Linux SQLite support, and Steam Deck input.
- Disables an unintended developer window in 1.04.1.
Player impact
Players can revisit or retry newly loaded cases without rebuilding their tables, while earlier case progress remains outside the new persistence system. The sequence also removes several platform and workflow blockers.

What changed
Version 1.05 changes how case progress is retained. Retrying a case no longer deletes the tables a player created, and switching between cases preserves those tables as well. The limitation is explicit: only cases loaded after the update enter the new persistence system. A case visited before 1.05 does not retroactively gain saved tables unless it is loaded under the new build.
The update batches table inserts while loading, which the developer says may prevent some Mac crashes. It also standardizes the executable icon, fixes credit-table formatting, and corrects a data type in the ninth case.
Earlier patches form an important sequence. Version 1.02 added an assistant option to return to unlocked cases and fixed a floating-point crash in case nine. Version 1.03 added more direct hints, restored Ctrl+Enter table saving, recognized UNION for syntax highlighting, and fixed several interface and settings issues. Version 1.04 restored missing SQLite functions on Linux, opens the Steam Deck keyboard from input fields, improves default table names, and fixes achievements and unsaved-table highlighting. Version 1.04.1 then disabled an unintended developer window.
Key changes
Progress and case navigation
- Tables survive retries and case changes for cases loaded after 1.05.
- Previously unlocked cases can be revisited through the assistant.
- Earlier pre-update table state is not recovered retroactively.
Platform and workflow fixes
- Missing Linux SQLite functions are restored.
- Steam Deck input fields bring up the virtual keyboard.
- Mac table-loading behavior is batched as a possible crash mitigation.
- Ctrl+Enter saving, syntax highlighting, hints, and volume behavior are corrected.
What this means for players
Case experimentation is less destructive because a wrong answer or switch no longer forces table reconstruction for newly loaded cases. Players returning to an older case should still expect pre-1.05 work to be absent unless that case has been loaded since the update.
Who is affected
All players who retry or revisit cases are affected by the persistence change. Linux, Mac, and Steam Deck users receive specifically named platform repairs.
Rollout and known limitations
The developer warns that the persistence change is large and asks for issue reports. The official note does not claim recovery of tables created before 1.05.
Editorial context
Steam Update Radar assessment: the version sequence is combined because the new case-navigation feature in 1.02 becomes substantially safer only with 1.05’s table preservation.
